Harrison 3

Harrison's story:
We got to the hospital at about 8:00 am on September 18, 2007.  We were scheduled for an induction.  They got me in a bed and the IV and Potocin started by 9:00.  I was dilated to a 6 when we got there.  And the rest is kind of a blur.  The dr. came in to break my water around 9:45, by then I was at a 7.  He still hadn't dropped yet.  I got my epidural around 10:15, and as soon as I was numb I started to feel a lot of pressure.  Sure enough I was at a 10... and crowning!  The dr. came back pretty fast and a couple of pushes later...  (Don't judge, it was a fast labor, but it was rough!  I look like a train wreck... because I felt like I'd been hit by a train.  haha.)
Harrison Brent Swain was born at 10:47 am.  He was 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 inches long.  He had a huge knot in his cord, but there were no complications, he was handsome and healthy.  Bald as a Q-ball and easy going, not much has changed... except the hair... and he still looks like this when he sleeps...
And now...
Bubba is 3!  Officially a BIG boy!  Potty training and everything.  He is now 40 inches tall and 33 lbs.  He is the brute in our family for sure.  Wearing a 5T or 4/5 Boys in cloths and a huge size 10 shoe.  (He is only one size smaller than is big brother in everything.)  And still as handsome as ever!
He had a great day, lots of presents and attention, so...perfect. :)
Dad thought this would be funny... it wasn't... it was just kind of mean.   And he had no idea what to do about it, he just froze.  Ok, it was kind of funny.
He got lots of cool stuff.  Money, books, a remote control dump-truck, a new transformer (Bumblebee, of course).
And then... there were the DRAGONS!  He has a bit of an obsession, and he has wanted one for a LONG time.  Grandma and Papa delivered!  :)  He loved everything, but they were the clear winner. (Both boys went to bed with one tonight!)
It was a fun day, filled with Harrison's favorite things.  He watched movies, played REALLY hard with his favorite person (Jackson) and there was lots of eating.  He wanted nuggets and fries for dinner, and then we had Elams over for (real) cake and ice cream.  They also brought him a very cool hot wheels track!
He is still my little teddy bear.  Always a sweetheart... except when he's throwing toys or wrestling.  :)   He is a good brother, loves to share and be a helper.  He is also a little singer, which I LOVE.  His favorites are Follow the Prophet, Twinkle Twinkle, and Shout it Out Loud (Kiss).  haha.  I would say "I can't believe he is 3!" but truthfully, I have had a hard time remembering how young he is!  He is SO big and smart as a whip, he says things all the time that impress me or make me laugh... or both!  It's been easy to forget he was only 2.  But not anymore!  :)   It's official!  ...He says he's "not all of them (fingers), but a lot of them."  That's absolutely right.  :) (Oh how I LOVE this kid!)
He's 3!

Zingers & Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese that is.  Harrison is turning 3!  (Not until tomorrow, but this was the party!)  This year, we went out on the town.  :)  He wanted to invite his friends, when I asked who his friends were, he said Wyatt and Levi (the Elam boys).  So, we made the Elam's tag along.  haha.  He was the HAPPIEST kid on the planet!  It was so much fun.
The kiddos:
The Elam family - all 6 of them in one picture, I was proud of myself!  :)
Harrison and I made a killing at this game!  Over 100 tickets!  Just call me bulls-eye!  ;)
The kid likes him some ski-ball!  (He's totally my kid!) His face in this pic is hilarious!
Counting up his winnings.  He ended up with 257!  Not too shabby!
Reagan was there too.  :)  ...And this was one of the few times I saw Jackson!
His LOOT!  Glow bracelets, a tootsie roll and a plastic bug!  He was super excited... I felt like we got jipped!
Happy Birthday to YOU!  ...We stole some little girls birthday song, or well, we pretended it was his!  He didn't notice!  :)  Oh, and there is the Zinger!  The perfect cake is the kind that fits in your purse!
Happy Birthday Bubba!  (He told me today that I am his best friend!  Aww, melt my heart!)
 (Presents and cake are tomorrow!)

FHE - Sponsered by The Home Depot

Thanks to Grandma & Papa Salisbury, the boys got these super cool projects to work on for FHE. (They are from the Kids Workshop at Home Depot, my parents send them to us every month, since I am usually alone with 3 kids on the Saturday when they do them in the stores.  They also sent us the aprons and pins.) They got out their aprons and tools and, with a little help from mom and dad, got to work.

Jackson:
Harrison: (Yes, he still has his hair.  Sigh.  For a little longer.)
They are mini Foosball tables, or mini soccer games to Jackson.  Kind of perfect... they can play by themselves.  :)  They had a lot of fun and they were quick and easy.  It was great to have an activity that was a little different from our usual.
Thanks G & P Salisbury!  Hope you like the pictures!  :)

HAIR...

Is it just me or do we have the hairiest kids ever?!   I blame their dad.  I love their hair, don't get me wrong. But sometimes it seems like a lot of work.  And the boys are like chia-pets, it's insane how fast their hair grows.  I cut Jackson's hair right before school started at the beginning of Aug.  And yesterday I cut an inch and a half off of it... an inch and a half.  I measured it!  (And I should have taken a before picture!)  The kid grows hair like a pregnant woman!  And Harrison, oh I love his curls.  But cutting his hair is SO time consuming, so I put it off... and then he looks like this....  (I know, he has crazy-Christopher Loyd-scientist hair! The fro is back.)
And it wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't also the dirtiest kid in the world.... That is dirt... super glued to his scalp with sweat.... Yuck!  His hair is going to get chopped tomorrow...
Then there is little Miss Reagan.  Who's hair is amazing!  It is growing super fast too.  Although I know why babies aren't usually born with this much hair... because they lay on it and rub on it and spit up in it... and have you ever tried to brush a newborns hair?  It's not so easy... and it's not much easier 8 months later!  But every once in a while, we get to try something new and cute!  :)  She was in a good mood...
That's right, that's my 8 month old with pigtails!  Let the jealousy ooozzz!  haha.  (They only looked like that until her first nap... she woke up with piggies going in all directions!)  haha.  ...And one more... just for cuteness!

Die, Die, DIE!

Those were the words I was quietly screaming... as I attempted to smash the life out of this....
It strolled out from under our couch (that I was sitting on) at about 11:30 pm last night, right after I had just gotten done putting Harrison back to bed for the third time... that's another post... but oh my gosh!  What if he had stepped on it... what if I had?  What if it had waited to come out and Harrison or Jackson had found it when they were alone...?

This is the first scorpion we've had in our house.  And just so you know, it's hard to kill them by smashing them with a shoe when they are on the carpet!  I'm pretty sure I just pissed him off sufficiently, he was all ready to strike and squirrelly, running in every direction (thanks to my awesome sneak attack)... I think after about 12 good hits I maybe injured him a little. (But not much, he was still ready to strike.) So I scooped him up... took his mug shot... thought about keeping him in a jar... changed my mind... and flushed him away!  (Scorpions also sink, interesting, I know.)  I was totally freaked out... adrenaline pumping, feeling pretty brave and also wondering if he had friends... so I needed a cookie or two before I could go to bed.... I wore my shoes to bed... and I dreamed about scorpions.... Ewwwwww!

No wonder...

I love them so stinking much!  They are the cutest kids EVER!  :)  Harrison is totally in the zone, TV is the enemy!  But they were hangin' out all together.  And if you couldn't tell, she ADORES her brothers!
And handsome, lady killer, Action Jackson got his super cool school pics back!  :)  (I still can't believe I'm old enough to have a kid in school... or that he is SO big... or that I'm a member of the PTA... I think I'm growing grey hair as I type!  haha.)

RAIN, RAIN...

Oh, to be a kid!  :)  The boys (all 3 of them) enjoying the nice cool summer monsoon rain!
And after the rain, we have thousands of these!  Kind of cute and super tiny!
That is Jackson's hand.  ...Too bad frogs don't eat snakes.... that would be awesome!  ;)
