I finally went to the dermatologist. I know, I probably should have gone about 5 years ago. But with a lot of badgering from friends and family, and a certain discolored mole, I finally did it! I was pretty sure, since I am covered in moles and freckles, that things were going to be worse. But the only potential problem was on my face (of course)! Even the one on my back that freaks people out and has it's own zip code... is just a mole. Yeah me! I really can't tell you how relieved I am and how excited I was that it was only one! (I was sure there would be like 6.) He thinks it might just be abnormal, but was concerned and wanted to rule melanoma out! So off it came, literally, in about 10 minutes. There I was thinking I was just going to be looked over, and the next thing I know he is putting a stitch in my face! Overall, it wasn't that bad, and it doesn't hurt. I will know the test results in about 7 - 10 days. And in the mean time, I get to walk around like this for a week. Awesome! (Ya, ignore my amazing hair and lack of make-up!) But I figured I would produce proof that I actually did it! Needles and all, I am so proud!
**Something I learned that I am going to share: You are supposed to get your skin checked every year. Especially if you are prone to moles/freckles or have had a lot of sun exposure or have a history of skin cancer in your family. And don't be scared, it took about 10 min., and it really didn't hurt (the checking or the removal). Ok, so there is my shpeal. But I am only sharing because it took me so long to do it, completely because of fear, and now I might actually have Melanoma! So get it done people! :)

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! :) Although I can't believe the one of your back was normal. Let me know when the results get back! Love ya!
Kudos to you! I really should go and get it done, but I also have a million and one excuses why I haven't, maybe now that I know it is short and mostly painless I will take the plunge too! :)
and btw I wish I looked as good as you do w/o makeup!
I know its gross but I had 6 moles removed and one ended up being cancerous (it was also the one mole the doctor didn't want to remove but I begged him to do it) so it is really good to have them checked even though I haven't been since... I really need to skin cancer runs in my family.
Also Ashley Hairs blog is private now and I gave her my wrong email address. Are you on her blog? Could you write a comment with my correct address? bradmclark@gmail.com. Thanks so much!
I'm so relieved and proud of you. I know all about avoiding things out of fear. And it doesn't look as bad as you made it sound. (lol) I know, it's your face. And that always sucks. We love and worry about you. Mom & Dad
So glad to hear that you went. I'm a big believer in going to the Dermatologist...although I haven't been for in over a year. Hope your results come back normal. :)
