Bazingga!

So I am posting this for a lot of reasons! 1 - because I actually think it's kind of cool! 2 - It's a preface to the posts that will follow about surgery and such. And 3 - Because I want it documented, despite Patrick's shame! LOL!

Now, to explain! Minutes after Reagan was born, the doctors and nurses scared us a little bit by pointing out what they thought was a cleft pallet. Fortunately, she just has a really high arch (which she gets from me), so disaster averted! Thank heavens! But just a couple minutes later while having her feet stamped, a nurse (not the 2 doctors who had just been looking her over) pointed out an interesting feature! Our sweet little girl was born with 10 fingers and... 11 toes! :) (Yep, go ahead and finish counting them!)
The first words immediately out of Patrick's mouth were "she's like the 6 fingered man from Princess Bride!" followed by what can only be described as a very confused look on his face. It freaked him out a little! haha. I was just grateful that of all of the things that could have been not right, it was just an extra toe. (Hello, cleft pallet scare!) Which the nurse kindly reiterated for me by saying "better too many than not enough!". Amen! So, the toe is really a toe, bone and toe-nail and everything! Which, as cool and unique as it is, means surgery to remove it. Everyone has their opinion about this, but we are going to remove it. Not because Patrick thinks people will think she is inbred, but because it means not having to buy one special wide shoe for the rest of her life. And lets face it, girls do like them some shoes! :) It shouldn't be too big a deal, and she will most likely have it done between 4 and 6 months, so she really won't be too affected by it all.Now the world knows! :) And since she won't have it forever, we had to take some pictures of it!
**This post is for Patrick! haha. Mostly just because he told me not to post it! BAZINGGA! :)

The FRO (the blonde one)

This kids' hair is freaking hilarious! We were brushing it out and I couldn't believe how poofy it got! All he needs now is a pick! LOL! It was awesome! So naturally, we had to do a photo shoot!

Too bad it's SO blonde, it doesn't show up in the pics as good as it could! But you get the idea! ;)

The Trophy... 3 Months Late

Yep, Jackson finally got his soccer trophy on Friday. Just to clarify, the soccer season ended the week before Thanksgiving!! I couldn't believe they forgot to order most of the U5 boys trophies, so they didn't get them when everyone else did! I also couldn't believe it took 3 months to correct the situation, but the season was pretty much that unorganized the whole way through!
Thankfully, he was pretty dang excited to get it, late or not! And I am really proud of how much he learned and improved over the season! Good job, Dude! And congrats on the bling! :)

1 Month

Reagan is a month old today. I can't believe it has already been a month... and I can't believe it's only been a month! haha. She is so sweet and we love her a lot! She went to the doctor last Monday and has grown... in true Swain fashion... a whopping 2 inches in 3.5 weeks and gained a measly 6 oz. lol! My poor string-bean kids! Her fro just keeps getting longer and more out of control... it's awesome! :)
...Jackson is ever the watchful big brother. He loves to help take care of her and he sings to her all the time! (It is the sweetest thing ever!) These pictures will come in handy in a few years when I have to remind him that he loves her! :) It has been an interesting month, finding our grove and making it work. On most days, I'm pretty sure I fail miserably, but I'm trying. I don't think I have been this tired ever in my life! lol! But man do I love these people!! (They were all ready to watch the opening cerimonies! :) Patrick has been relentlessly trying to talk them into becoming Olypians! haha.)

VaLeNTiNe'S DaY!

Patrick got me beautiful flowers and helped the kids make me Valentines. :) I have to admit, I was more than a little surprised! (I'm not even sure when he had time to help them do it without me knowing about it!) They were very proud of their work, especially Jackson. (Reagan wasn't having the best day when we took the pictures! :)) We spent the day doing what we do everyday, playing, watching the Olympics and hanging out! All 3 boys spent a good hour on the trampoline, it was pretty funny! And it was 70 degrees outside! (The wipe-out picture of Harrison totally cracks me up! haha.)
Happy Valentine's Day!

SuPeR BoWL & Family

We got to have my brother and sister-in-law here for a few days, including Super Bowl Sunday! (Which, at our house, is a holiday!) We didn't do too much while they were here, but we did brave a trip to Walmart with all 3 kids! (Hahaha. They won't be having children for a while!) So we went all out for the party! :) (It's just too bad the stinkin Colts didn't show up!)
We also got to have some friends from Utah here with us too. They happened to be snow-birding it down here and were in the area for game day. It was actually a lot of fun having a full house, especially with so many faces we miss!
Jake and Whitney with the kids! Harrison literally cried for about an hour when he realized Jake was gone!! It broke my heart, he and Jake are kindred spirits! We loved having them here and miss them A TON! (Jake makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches ever and Whitney makes the CUTEST girly baby things! I was spoiled!)

Funny Boys!

They are pretty funny together... and I love watching them at it! :) Plus, they really are super CUTE! (But I am a little bias! haha.) Their shirts actually look like the them, only Jackson's is Harrison and Harrison's is Jackson! I think it's the hair! hahahaha.

The boxes were their airplanes. Who knew having to buy so many diapers would come in so handy!
Yep, Patrick is in there too!!! LOL! And no, that train is not big enough for all 3 of them! I love my boys!

Family Visits

My blogging has been suffering, I know, I can't really help it! Life isn't necessarily crazy, but the days and nights are starting to blur a little. Reagan is a really good baby, so I'm not sure why I am so tired all the time. I still can't believe I have 3 kids! Fortunately I have had a lot of help. Patrick was off for almost 2 weeks and when he went back to work, my mom came to stay for a few days. We had a lot of fun with her, doing pretty much nothing but hanging out. It was great! :) She did do some grocery shopping (we really don't get out much) and make the worlds best cookies! And she even watched all 3 kids while Patrick and I went on a date... dinner and a movie!!! (Avatar is SO worth the money!) It was really weird to be all alone together, but in a good way! :) Thanks mom for everything you do for us and for coming and spending some time with us! I really loved having you here!!! The boys were a little heart broken when they woke up from naps and realized you were gone, so I am guessing that means they enjoyed you too! :) Luckily we will see you again soon.

We also had a visit from Uncle Ran and Aunt Lena. They live an hour and a half away and they made the drive just to see us. Harrison got so excited when we opened the door, he thought it was Grandma and Pops (Patrick's parents)! LOL! He was instant buddies with Ran, even after he figured out who he was. :) The boys were competing the whole time for their attention, it was funny! They were even kind enough to bring presents for all of the kids! We are spoiled!

With more family visits planned over the next couple of months, we are excited to spend more time with so many of the people we love!
